Couples! These simple tips will make your wedding photos and videos 10x better!

Even if you aren’t planning on having professionals at your wedding (which obviously we recommend), you’ll want to nail these tips so those who do capture your day don’t end up with useless photos.

1.) Plan on your lighting! This is big for you, your wedding party and those who attend AS WELL AS your photographers/filmmakers. Ask the venue where the sun sets and how your ceremony will be situated. You don’t want anyone staring into the sun during the ceremony. That means typically, you want the sun to your audiences’ back so they’re not staring into it and your wedding party is well lit.

Sunset ceremonies seem like a great idea but your attendees are blind half way through and your photographers are struggling to not have blown out photos.

2.) Take the glass out of your frames! This is one that isn’t thought about that much but taking the glass out of your photo frames will allow for flash and other lights to hit the photos without that glare and they still look beautiful in their frames! This tip is a must if you want your memorial tables or decor to be captured correctly without a glare or awful reflection.

3.) Consider doing most of the bridal party photos prior to the ceremony. Even if you’re not doing a first look, have the one side do photos, hide them and grab the other side of the party for photos. That way, after the ceremony, you’re doing less group photos which means less people standing around waiting and you get more time for couple shots with just you and your newly wed!
